Get ready for your student’s first year
Join us for Level Up, the virtual workshop series designed for families and advocates of historically marginalized students to learn more about what IU has to offer. Hear from dedicated experts, have candid and honest conversations about a variety of topics, and get your questions answered.
Virtual workshops will all be offered at 6:30 p.m. Eastern Time on the first Thursday of each month from June to August, and will cover the following topics:
Thursday, June 2: Financial Aid and Scholarships
Get an overview of how financial aid works and find out about financial management tools for both you and your student. You’ll have a chance to hear from representatives from the Office of Scholarships and the Office of Student Financial Assistance.
Thursday, July 7: Supporting the First-Year Student
Learn how to help your student transition to college life, how to have tough conversations when they aren't living at home, and how to support your student’s mental health and wellness.
Thursday, August 4: Life in the Margins
During this panel, you will get to meet staff from IU’s Cultural Centers. Learn about identifying and confronting implicit bias on campus. Participants will also find out about IU's rich community and cultural resources, ways your student can get involved both on and off campus, and resources IU has in place for addressing bias incidents on campus.
